Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MacWrap (the "Service"), a macOS application and related subscription provided by MacWrap ("we", "us"). By installing or using MacWrap, or by subscribing to MacWrap Premium, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What MacWrap is

MacWrap is a tool that packages Windows software that you already own and are licensed to use into a macOS application bundle, using a compatibility layer (a modified build of Wine) and Apple's Game Porting Toolkit. MacWrap does not provide, sell, or distribute any third-party Windows application or game.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use MacWrap on Macs you own or control. The free tier is for wrapping your own software. The paid subscription ("Premium") adds curated compatibility recipes, their updates, and support.

3. Your responsibilities

• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right and a valid license to use, install, and run any software or game you wrap with MacWrap.
• You will not use MacWrap to circumvent software licensing, DRM, or activation, nor to use software you are not entitled to use.
• For games, you download titles you own through their official services (e.g. your own Epic Games account via the open-source Legendary client and Epic's official API). You will comply with those services' terms.
• You will comply with the license terms of any software you wrap.

4. Restrictions

You may not: reverse engineer MacWrap except as permitted by law; resell or redistribute MacWrap or the premium recipes; remove notices; or use MacWrap for unlawful purposes.

5. Subscriptions & billing

• The free tier is provided at no cost. MacWrap Premium is a subscription (currently €7.99 / month), billed through our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, who handles payment, tax, and invoicing.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Premium recipes are a service: they are delivered from our servers and require an active subscription. They are not sold as a perpetual copy.

6. Compatibility, no guarantee

Compatibility varies by application. The in-app analyzer shows an expected tier (green/blue/orange/red), which is a best-effort estimate, not a guarantee. Some software and games will not run (for example, titles with kernel-level anti-cheat). We show this up front.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that any specific app or game will run.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MacWrap shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. 3, 4, 7, 8) survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; the "last updated" date reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.

12. Open source & trademarks

MacWrap runs on a modified build of Wine (LGPL); the modified source is published at github.com/WallsRaul/macwrap-wine. Windows is a trademark of Microsoft; Apple, Mac, and Apple Silicon are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Epic Games is a trademark of Epic Games, Inc. MacWrap is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft, Apple, or Epic Games.
